Where to Buy

Campers that sign-up for Coder Camp will need to purchase their equipment prior to attending camp.

The equipment can be purchased from Amazon.com for approximately $112.50 which includes shipping (price as of 11/18/2015).

Campers will also need to purchase a HDMI to VGA adapter and power supply in order to connect their computers to the computer displays at camp. This adapter will also allow students to connect their computers to computer displays at home that have VGA as a connection option (VGA is the most common desktop computer display connection). Students who do not have a computer display at home that accepts VGA may connect their computer to any HDTV. We chose to use this adapter in lieu of having families purchase a 19" HDTV, as the adapter costs much less.

Purchase List and Links

Raspberry Pi 3, Case, Power Supply, HDMI Cable, 32GB MicroSD card

Wireless Keyboard and Mouse

HDMI to VGA Adapter

HDMI to VGA Power Supply

Optional Equipment

A HDTV can be purchased on-line or regular retail like Wal-Mart or Best Buy. We recommend that HDTVs not exceed 19 inches for screen size and you should expect to pay $99 or less for the HDTV. A HDTV is not required for camp, but may be used at home after camp is over as a display for the Raspberry Pi 2 Computer.

Our tech camp, day camp programs were originally developed to help primary and secondary grade students get a head start on learning Google's free, open-source mobile operating system called Android and their free computer operating system called Chrome OS. Since then, we've also developed our Windows Camp, Coder Camp, and Circuit Camp programs.

We've continued to expand our camp offerings in order to expose students to as many different types of technology as possible. We know that early access to technology gives them an edge in an ever changing technological world.

Tech Camp is a great opportunity for students to learn about technology!
